Implemented in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye and UNDP Türkiye, the “Supporting Capacity of CSOs in the Field of Climate Change and Biodiversity Project (Eco Future Grant Programme)” has completed its first year.
Commenced on March 1, 2024, and planned for completion by February 29, 2028, the project aims to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Türkiye to address climate change and biodiversity protection while fostering innovative solutions for environmental sustainability. To achieve these goals, the project integrates a comprehensive approach consisting of technical assistance and grant programme components.
The technical assistance component focuses on developing the capacities of CSOs through expert-led training, strategic partnerships, and advocacy initiatives, challenges. The grant component will provide financial support to CSOs on the way to net-zero goals by implementing climate-positive and innovative solutions focused on protecting biodiversity and increasing climate resilience.
The project is positioned as a key milestone in Türkiye’s progress toward environmental sustainability. The Eco Future Grant Program, which acts as a bridge to ensure development in critical areas such as climate adaptation, climate readiness, ecosystem restoration, environmental sustainability and biodiversity protection, will continue to contribute to the construction of sustainable and resilient communities.
